Kamp Kenwood

 

For over 75 years, WFU has operated Kamp Kenwood…a beautiful state regulated camp on Lake Wissota near Chippewa Falls. Kamp Kenwood was dedicated as a place for learning, passing the torch to future generations, and linking the present with the future.

True to it’s mission, Kamp Kenwood offers annual summer programs for all ages, and is also available for private rental.

The Main Lodge has a breathtaking knotty pine interior with vaulted ceiling, a massive fieldstone fireplace, full kitchen, handicap accessable restrooms and seating for 280 people. The lodge is a great gathering place for meetings, weddings, receptions, family reunions, dances, dinners and more.

The Staff Cabin has a stone fireplace, full kitchen, two bathrooms, and sleeping accomodatins for 13 people. It is nearly remodeled, and available for year round rental.

Three adjoining classrooms offer meeting space with theatre-style seating. Each classroom offers seating for up to 20 people.

The camp includes 4 rustic bunk cabins with plumbing and electricity, which each accommodate up to 20 people.

Family and friends can enjoy the beautiful sand beach, picnic areas, fire rings, sand volleyball and basketball courts. There are also 4 docks, with 20 fish cribs located just off shore. Lake Wissota State parkj is just a short distance away, with hiking trails, softball, tennis and additional camp sites and docks.

WFU summer youth camp programs at Kamp Kenwood offer hiking, campfires, swimming, music, drama, folk dancing and more. Speakers and workshops give students a chance to learn valuable leadership and cooperative skills. Campers will have the chance to create a camp co-operative store, elect a board of directors, buy shares, vote on issues and receive patronage refunds based on the snacks and souvenirs they purchase!

Local and co-op products and services are used at Kamp Kenwood whenever possible.

Additional camp programs are offered at Kamp Kenwood through 4H, area churches and other organizations.
