Education
Education is at the heart of all Wisconsin Farmers Union activities. At WFU, we believe that investing in our young people, educating consumers, and keeping our membership informed and involved will help us shape rural policies and economic development for rural America.
With this in mind, WFU offers:
- Youth and Adult Educational Programs
- County, State and National Level Programs
- Conferences Specifically for Women, Young Adults and Young Families
- Scholarships and Internships
- Summer youth camps
Youth Education Program
The Wisconsin Farmers Union youth program is aimed at developing young leaders for our organization and our country. The youth program curricula teach children about the importance of agriculture, leadership skills, cooperation, activism and good citizenship.
Any member of Wisconsin Farmers Union may participate as a youth leader. Each youth group must hold four meetings per year using the youth program curriculum.
In addition to youth meetings, youth groups are eligible to participate in Farmers Union Day Camps, Wisconsin Farmers Union Kamp Kenwood program, and the WFU State Youth Convention. Awards and award trips such as the NFU All-States Leadership Camp in Bailey, Colo., are also available for youth participants.
Adult Education
Wisconsin Farmers Union is committed to continued education for its adult members. WFU regularly holds meetings for the purpose of adult education including quarterly conferences, membership meetings, workshops and the annual convention. Examples of adult education events include:
