WFU Member Engagement Survey: Continuing in our Tradition of Member-Driven Programming

What do you value most about your WFU membership?  What kinds of programming are you most interested in participating in, both at the local and state-wide level?  We want WFU to continue providing opportunities for engagement that are both inspiring and meaningful.  To do this well, though, we need to hear from you!  That is why the Membership Department created the “WFU Member Engagement Survey.”  Will you please take the survey today?

For me, the thing I value most about WFU is our grassroots, democratic process for shared decision making around our priorities.  The first WFU event I ever attended was the 88th Convention.  Witnessing the policy process was the moment I knew I would join the organization.  I came away from it so inspired- never before in my life had I witnessed democracy so alive and in action.  The members did not agree on everything, but we came together around the issues that mattered to us and demonstrated respect for one another as we came to “reason together” for our shared values.  I left my first WFU event feeling connected, inspired, and ready to act.  I want all of our members to experience that sensation.

We know that members join WFU for many different reasons- a sense of community, a collective voice in the capitol, leadership programming, and cooperative education, to name a few.  We also know that members might be looking for different ways to engage at the local versus state-wide level.  To continue putting on programming that is impactful, we must also return to the organization’s roots: membership participation is the foundation for all the work we do!  

The Membership team wants to know what your expectations of engagement with WFU were when you joined, how these expectations have or have not been met, and what you are currently looking for from your member experience.  We also want to know how you prefer to receive communication from us, what kinds of events appeal to you, and what barriers make it difficult to participate.  We will use this information to inform state-wide programming.  We will also share this information (anonymized) with our chapter leaders across the state, so that they have more information on the kinds of programming you are looking for in your local area.
